The purpose of this blog

This blog is intended to help with British Bird identification.

I am not an expert in this field, but hope to link up here with people who can help myself and others put a name to a bird they have seen but are not confident in identifying.

I, for one, have spent many hours looking at photographs in books and on the web and still not been sure what it is I have seen. Sometimes a friendly voice can be a huge help in expanding ones knowledge.

Different people have different expertise and I hope to be able to bring these together so that we all may learn.

    Thank you Bluebird. I know how much trouble I have on occasions trying to identify certain birds and it is always helpful to get other people's opinions and to share each other's knowledge.
